Fascinated by the Orient – its tales, its scents and spells – composers of all times create within this enchanting and powerful inspiration. In 2025, Golfam Khayam, a young composer from Tehran, writes for Le Concert impromptu 4 Chevelures persanes, musical portraits of heroines from the Book of Kings by Ferdowsi. The 4 musical moments are set with gems signed Mozart, Boieldieu or Saint‑Saëns. The program is therefore understood as an epic narrative where Orientalism and authentic Persian music dialogue: a wordless tale invoking the infinity of One Thousand and One Nights.
