"Often in history, anonymous was a woman." This sentence by Virginia Woolf is the starting point of Julie Campiche's new solo project. Each composition tells, in music, the story of a woman, from the past or today, from here or elsewhere, famous or anonymous. Responding to an intense need for sisterhood, she gives voice to those past women who have been silenced, minimized, anonymized, and yet so powerful.
For this creation, Julie Campiche partners with artist Sophie Le Meillour to enrich the show with video mapping projections.
The creation took place on March 8, 2024 as part of the Vernier Cultural Season (Switzerland) on International Women's Day. The album Unspoken was released on February 13, 2026 by Ronin Rhythms (Swiss pianist Nik Bartsch)
Julie Campiche is constantly in an innovative approach with her instrument. Her research leads her to equip her harp with electronic effects that subtly complement her improviser's palette. She thus creates a very personal technique and language. Her musical approach is driven by the desire to find the infinitely universal deep within intimacy, to work on self-forgetting and on creating spaces where dreams come true.
Meeting
The concert will be preceded by a meeting about art and feminist engagement with Charlotte Bienaimé, Juliette Copeland and Amelia Feuer.
