It is often known as being placed at the back of the orchestra, a discreet copper giant tasked with vibrating the sonic foundations. Yet, the tuba is not limited to a few low and solemn notes! For this exceptional evening, Jérémie Dufort, new tubist of the Ensemble intercontemporain, former musician of the Garde républicaine and member of the klezmer group Dumka, takes the helm and invites musician friends from very varied backgrounds.
On the program: unexpected encounters, bridges between styles, sonic surprises and musical discoveries. From contemporary repertoire to klezmer influences, and other musical escapades, the tuba reveals itself in turn as virtuosic, lyrical, mischievous, tender or spectacular.
A rare opportunity to discover the full richness of an instrument whose palette of colors is as vast as it is little known. In short, it's time to shine the spotlights on this giant too often relegated to the background… and finally give it the place it deserves! 🎺 (yes, we know, it's not a tuba, but emojis have their limits…)
