The film
Synopsis: In 2013, Edward Snowden triggered one of the largest political earthquakes in the United States by revealing NSA's secret defence documents. Under the name "CITIZENFOUR", he contacted American documentary filmmaker Laura Poitras. She joined him in Hong Kong and made CITIZENFOUR in real time, a unique historical document and an intimate portrait of Edward Snowden.

This is the third part of America's post-11 September trilogy by Laura Poitras. In 2006, she denounced the excesses of the anti-terrorist war in My Country, My Country, which deals with the war in Iraq led by the United States; In 2010, the second section, The Oath, was interested in the naval base of Guantánamo Bay.
The film crew of the documentary went around the world, as it took place in Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, Brazil, China, Russia and finally in the United States.
Presented in preview at the 2014 New York Film Festival, Citizenfour subsequently won numerous awards, including the Best Documentary Film Award at the BAFTA Awards 2015, the Independent Spirit Awards and the 2015 Oscars.
