Multi-hour show with 6 sessions per day.
Directed by Craig Quintero and Phoebe Greenberg, Blur is a hybrid work that pushes the limits of the theatrical narrative by integrating cutting-edge technologies into mixed reality. At the heart of this 50-minute journey, the public is invited to explore a world where advances in resurrection biology and cloning have erased the boundaries between natural and artificial. Experience raises a fundamental ethical question: what would you do if you could defeat death?
Inspired by the Théâtre de l'Absurde, this production unfolds as a dream landscape populated by hybrid creatures, like Dolly, a semi-human, half-animal figure embodying the grey areas of genetic engineering. Through the capture of volumetric movement and augmented reality, the raw emotions of the performers are melted into virtual environments, creating a disturbing dialogue between the living and the dead.
This creation is the result of an international collaboration between PHI Studio (Montreal), Riverbed Theatre (Taipei) and Onassis Culture (Athens). Acclaimed during his presentation at the Venice Mostra, BLUR proposes a new paradigm for the live show, where digital amplifies narrative. More than a performance, it is a deep meditation on mourning, identity and what makes us fundamentally human in the face of scientific progress. A work both dense and enchanting, recommended for audiences aged 16 and over.
