Experienced pianist and arranger, familiar with the big stages of musical theater and the most demanding jazz clubs, Valérie Benzaquine presents her quartet with a repertoire of reinterpreted standards in her style and originals arranged by her. Swing, improvisation and no compromises.
Around her are three formidable musicians. On saxophone Shekinah Rodz, an American of Puerto Rican descent, bright and inspired, unfolds music like many territories to conquer. On drums Julie Saury, daughter of clarinetist Maxim Saury, has earned a reputation on French and international stages with the greatest, and her swing has long enjoyed unanimous acclaim. On double bass Antonella Mazza, the first woman to establish herself in jazz double bass in Italy, awarded at the Roccella Jazz Festival alongside the Michael Brecker Quartet, lays down foundations with quiet confidence.
