Art workshops to bring art, culture and disability together
Disability is still too often synonymous with social exclusion. Yet each person has a desire to create, to express himself, to feel in his place. It is this conviction that drives the association Mode et Handicap ! through its artistic and cultural workshops, designed to welcome all, in a situation of social or motor handicap, with kindness and at their own pace.
These workshops extend the wider commitment of the association, which designs clothing suitable for disabled people — young people, adults, children — by combining ergonomics, functionality and aesthetics. Beyond the garment, it is a real process of autonomy, self-confidence and inclusion that is built here, gesture after gesture.
These workshops offer personalized accompaniment, listening to the needs, fragility and strengths of each individual.
Three workshops on the programme:
Art-painting therapy
An accessible and caring workshop, open to all.
A space where you can pose, create, tell your story. Through drawing, painting, collage, modeling or engraving, each participant advances at his own pace, accompanied with gentleness, to regain confidence, self-esteem and a sense of belonging. Creations find their place in exhibitions, in a portfolio, through photographic traces — all sources of shared pride.
Painting on fabric
An inclusive activity, simple to adapt to the level and pace of each individual.
Accessible to all ages, this activity invites everyone to give free rein to their imagination. Handprints for younger people, more precise drawings for others: each participant finds his or her way of expressing himself or herself on the fabric. Collective Fresque, customized cushions, personalized bags — all concrete projects that give a framework, a motivating objective, a pride to share. A moment of creation where one also takes care of the last stage, the one that makes all the difference: the fixation of the painting, so that each work resists time, washings, and everyday life.
Thong art and plastic arts
A welcoming workshop, designed to fit each participant.
A playful and meticulous activity, where coloured threads stretched around nails gradually give rise to a motif chosen by each one. A precision exercise that invites concentration, cultivates patience and celebrates the pride of the gesture accomplished.
Each of these workshops has the same intention: to make art a welcoming space, a tool for inclusion, a way to feel seen, heard, valued. Developing autonomy, strengthening self-esteem, connecting — this is what these creative times offer to each participant
