The Cypriot folk comedy «Arrwostia tjai Giatreia» (Illness and Cure) takes to the open-air stage in Larnaca, Cyprus, on Sunday 2 August 2026 at 20:00, presented by the Folklore Club «Pentasxoinos». The performance is part of the 12th Art & Culture Festival.
Set in a Cypriot village in the 1980s, the story follows a hypochondriac elderly man who constantly seeks excuses for medical attention, throwing his family into a frenzy as they desperately try to call in emergency carers. The phone becomes an absolute comic disaster as his relatives anxiously attempt to describe his vague complaints, while he continues to interfere in his own eccentric way. A warm, authentic, and hilarious slice of Cypriot village life.
