The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra presents an original concert with beloved melodies from popular video games, with free admission
The music that accompanied countless hours of gaming and raised different generations of players leaves the screens for one evening and takes on a symphonic dimension. On Friday, September 18, Freedom Square in Nicosia hosts “The Video Game Symphony,” a special concert dedicated to the musical world of video games.
The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra will perform recognizable themes from popular titles such as Super Mario, World of Warcraft and Pokémon, along with music from other beloved digital worlds. Melodies that were identified with adventures, battles and fantastic journeys will be presented through the rich sound of a full symphony orchestra.
The musical direction is undertaken by Liza Xanthopoulou, while the orchestrations are signed by Andrés Soto. The concert is presented by “Friends of Nicosia” and the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, with the support of the Municipality of Nicosia and in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Cyprus.
An original musical experience that appeals both to video game fans and to those who want to discover how the melodies of digital entertainment transform when they meet the power of symphonic music.
