Lania, one of the most beautiful and most picturesque villages in Cyprus, is preparing to wear her holiday and welcome a big two-day celebration dedicated to the culture, roots and authenticity of our place.
On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026, the Cyprus Tradition Festival in Lania aspires to turn the community into a living meeting point for people, generations and traditions, through a rich program of music, dance, traditional arts, flavors and experiential actions.
Two days. A whole village. A great celebration of Cyprus.
The event is under the auspices of His Excellency, President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, emphasising the importance of maintaining, promoting and transmitting our cultural heritage to the next generations.
A GORGE NOT JUST PRESENTING DELIVERY – MAKES IT EXPERIENCE
From morning until evening, visitors will have the opportunity to meet people who still keep living arts and habits of our country.
Riching of cologne, live making of rosary and pithkian, exhibition of traditional bread, making palouze, pottery workshop, traditional products, creations and Cypriot flavors compose a setting that aspires to travel the visitor to authentic Cyprus.
Tradition, however, will not simply be on exhibits and stands.
It'll be heard. He'll be dancing. It will be created before the eyes of the world. It'll taste, sound and picture.
SATURDAY 19 SEPTEMBER – THE GREAT START
The Festival opens its gates at 11:00, with the opening of the booths.
At 19:00 the official opening will take place, featuring actress Elia Ioannidou. The opening will be held by the Minister for Energy, Trade and Industry, Mr. Michael Damianos.
At 19:30, the Limassol Cultural Dance Club "Dionyssos" will present traditional dances with a live accompaniment of lute and violin.
The first day peaks at 20:30 with a great concert, with Maria Theodotou, Anita Constantine, Eudokia Kadi and Maria Vardaki, in a musical evening in the heart of Lania.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 – JURTH CONTINUES
The second day begins at 10:00, with all the stands and parallel actions receiving the public again.
At 17:00 a pottery workshop will be held with ceramicist Maria Michael, while at the same time the Dance Club "The Perivoli of St Lazarus" will present its own program.
At 18:00, Sylvia Mathicoloni's “Music Tours” Choir, with Maria Amman and Xenia Odysseus solo, will fill Lania with music.
The two-day curtain will fall at 20:30, with Vasiliki Hatziadamos in a large traditional and folk program, with the participation of the Dance Group "Diplofyros" Trimiklini.
DELIVERY IS FUTURE WHEN ALIVE
The Cyprus Tradition Festival in Lana is created with a clear goal: to bring tradition back to man.
Not as something distant or museum, but as a living part of our identity that can move older people, introduce themselves to younger generations and become an authentic experience for every visitor.
For two days, Lana aspires to become a large live workshop of Cypriot culture, where music meets the dance, artisans share their knowledge, flavors awaken memories and different generations meet around everything that connects us to this place.
Because tradition isn't just what we inherited. It's what we choose to keep alive.
