In the style of Macha Beranger, Stella hosts a daily radio show from midnight to three in the morning in which she receives insomnia‑stricken listeners on the phone to talk. But tonight, a chain of calls that all seem linked to each other leads Stella to fantasize about the lives of those who call her. Conversing with each one, she becomes a witness to the silent dramas their voices mask.
We then slip into a theatrical thriller where the fragments of a larger family drama are revealed.
With “Allô Stella,” we choose a visceral entry into the mechanisms of control and intrafamilial violence. The family forms a microcosm where secrets, taboos and silences are woven—a intimate space where violence can sometimes take the face of those we love. How is the chain of silence then built? And how can we hear what is not said?
Written in close collaboration with a psychologist specializing in the subject, Allô Stella addresses these questions in the form of a theatrical thriller. Suspense becomes here a dramaturgical tool: to make you feel before you understand, to experience before you analyze. We bet that emotion can open a more intimate and personal path toward reflection.
[This show evokes the subject of incest and contains scenes of sexual, psychological and physical violence].
